Monday Music: Jimmy Scott, Day by Day

It happened this past week:  a milestone in music with the death of jazz great Jimmy Scott.  Some described his voice as ethereal. His wife Jeanie said on Friday: "He was an Earth angel. He was different from any person I ever met. He was kind, humble. Everyone he met he made them feel special. He had a hard life, but he didn't hold any resentment." (quoted from The Guardian) There is certainly something transporting about his rendition of "Day by Day" from his 1969 studio album, The Source.
