Best known under the pseudonym Viuti, Roberto López exercised architecture as the screen of a much more important mission: to make people laugh. Born in 1944 in Argentina, at the age of 21 he published his first drawings in Tía Vicenta, and then for María Belén, Tío Landrú, Adán, Satiricón, Mengano, Chaupinela, El Ratón de Occidente, Breviary and Panorama. Monday Music: The Barber of Seville (a la Bugs Bunny)

This week, I wanted something light-hearted and fun. Here's a classic Looney Tunes production that demonstrates one of the ways my generation was introduced to classical music. In addition to the antics, I love the realistic scene of the orchestra warm-up at the beginning. It conveys the glad anticipation of good theater. Then comes the guns, slapstick, and hilarity as Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd provide new lyrics to Rossini's comic opera.
