Monday Music: Ringo Starr's Birthday WIsh

Ringo Starr will be celebrating his 81st birthday this week, and he’s inviting everyone to “spread peace and love” on the landmark date. Here's a nice track off of Ringo's 2019 album, What's My Name. The song is called "Send Love, Spread Peace." I posted it on my blog soon after the album was released and thought it would be good to repeat it as part of his long-standing birthday wish. He will be 81 on Wednesday, July 7.

Monday Music: Photograph

"But all I've got is a photograph..."

George Harrison died on November 29, 2001. One year later, on November 29, 2002, his friends gathered together at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the Concert for George. It was a wonderful concert and I highly recommend it. I checked it out at our local library a few years ago and liked it so much, I bought my own copy. It is not shown in the clip below, but as Ringo introduced the number, he said, "What a band, what a night! I loved George, George loved me. This song is one George and I wrote together, it's called 'Photograph.' The meaning is changed now, of course."

Monday Music: Walk with You

A warm collaboration of the remaining half of The Beatles. The song is from Ringo's album, Y Not (2010). Though this is the only track that Paul joins him on, the entire CD is enjoyable and uplifting. Other memorable tracks include "Peace Dream," and "The Other Side of Liverpool."
