Monday Music: Woke Up this Morning (John Legend)

As we commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, remembering the movement that included "Bloody Sunday" 50 years ago on the Edmund Pettus bridge, thinking of how far we have come and how far we have yet to go, here is John Legend with "Woke Up This Morning" from The Soundtrack For A Revolution. "Soundtrack for a Revolution tells the story of the American civil rights movement through its powerful music -the freedom songs protesters sang on picket lines, in mass meetings, in paddy wagons, and in jail cells as they fought for justice and equality." (See http://www.soundtrackforarevolutionfilm.com/Home.html)

Wake Up with E.B. White, John Legend, and The Roots

I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.
