Poetry Prompt

A while back, a friend shared this photo to use as a poetry prompt. It looks like some kind of combination zip up boot/high heel shoe with open toes and heel.  No doubt whoever wore this shoe made a statement with her entry into the room or onto the dance floor. My friend found this single shoe lying by a parking meter in one of the party/entertainment districts of town on a Saturday morning.

At my friend’s suggestion, several of us used the photo as a prompt to come up with a poem. Feel free to write your own poem in response to this photo. What do you see in the photo? What feelings does it elicit? What story do you think might have taken place before this shoe was left on the sidewalk?
