I noticed that Lake Street Dive was performing at Iron City in Birmingham last Week. They have a great sound and are getting a lot of attention. "There's something about humans singing in harmony that is just inherently joyful," is how Mike Calabrese, drummer for Lake Street Dive, put it on NPR's Morning Edition . The group definitely has a rich and joyful sound. They remind me of the energy and sound that The Manhattan Transfer captured a generation before. One of their most popular You Tube videos is this rendition of “I Want You Back,” performed on a sidewalk in Boston.
